FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The World Ecotourism Summit - Québec 2002

Québec City, Canada - May 20, 2002 -- More than 1,100 delegates and 40 Vice Ministers of Tourism representing no less than 133 countries attended the World Ecotourism Summit in Québec in May - a turnout that surprised even the organizers who were expecting about 800 attendees.

Angel-Eco Tours and its eco alliance (Eco-Alianza) exhibited at the Eco-réndézvous amongst its peers such as the World Tourism Organization, TIES, UNESCO, Conservation International, Rainforest International and the Mexican, Québec and Canadian Tourist Boards. Interestingly enough there were no other tour operators exhibiting. The alliance was proudly representing its union as well as special preservation and conservation projects that they collectively were involved with.

Paul Stanley and Aloha Balza were present from Angel-Eco New York while Antonio Pestana and Vicente Morata represented the alliance from Venezuela. They were ably assisted by no fewer than three Directors of Tourism who made the long trip from Venezuela - Ricardo Vitanza (Bolivar State), Sergio Cordova (Monagas State) and Ricardo Petit (Los Roques).

After three days of conferences and debates it was clear that the event was a huge success and a good platform from which to build on with regards to controls, regulations and the global importance of sustainable tourism.

Note - This Year is the International Year of Ecotourism and the International Year of the Mountains next year's theme will be The International Year of Fresh Water.
